Established in 1969, BWE Ltd has two principal product ranges in Conform™/ Conklad™ (Continuous Extrusion Machines for non-ferrous metals) and Cold Weld (method for joining non-ferrous metals without using heat, fillers or fluxes).

BWE Ltd (formerly Babcock Wire Equipment) has been manufacturing Cold Weld machines since the company was established and this is still very much part of our business today.
The real success of BWE Ltd began with the allocation of the original patent licence for Conform™ in 1976. The process of continuous forming - using a wheel - had been invented by the UK Atomic Energy Authority, which offered licences for the commercial development of the process.


In addition to the state of the art development facility, visitors to BWE Ltd will see assembly and testing areas, machine shops for the manufacture of component and production tooling - comprising CNC and electric discharge machines, and a modern office facility for the important design and engineering functions.

Although Conform™ / Conklad™ is one of the newer extrusion technologies, it is sufficiently mature, with so many installations in continuous production around the world that BWE Ltd can offer, with confidence, a number of very efficient machines for a wide range of applications.
