Conform Machines
There are 9 CONFORM/CONKLAD/SHEATHEX machines in the BWE Ltd range. These are the 315i, 350i, 400i and 550i for CONFORM; 350, 400 and 550 for CONKLAD; 400i and 550i for SHEATHEX. The 315i machine is designed only for radial operation and cannot therefore be used for CONKLAD operations. Click on buttons for more details.

The 285 machine is the smallest and has the simplest control system in the range and provides the capability to produce small sections usually in aluminium or copper. The machine has a 120kw (or 100kw) drive motor and contributes to a very economic method of producing rectangular copper or aluminium wire e.g. magnet wire.



Designed for Aluminium Round and Multi-void Tube but also capable of a wide range of other products and materials including Copper Sections. In comparison with the 285 machine, the 315i has additional benefits obtained from Induction Heated Tooling, Automatic Wheel Cooling and Insert Tooling, enabling it to withstand higher extrusion pressures and produce more delicate and complex products such as Micro Multi-void Tube.


The 350i is a special form of the universal 350 machine with products limited to solid and hollow sections. The drive is provided by a 200kw motor and has a sophisticated electronic control system.


The 400i has a 240kw drive motor and is required where the product is an exceptionally high pressure extrusion.


The 550i machine is the largest in the BWE Ltd range with a 400kw (or 500kw) motor and the capability of producing extrusions with dimensions up to 125mm and cross section 2400mm2, and output rates up to 2200 kg per hour in copper.

Conklad Machines


CONKLAD machines are designed explicitly for sheathing and cladding operations.


The 350 machine is the standard machine for the production of clad products (aluminium or zinc on steel wire or tube) and sheathed products (CATV, OPGW, and sheathing of fibre optic cables).

This machine is similar to the 350 but with a more powerful motor and has the capability of processing larger extrusions and those which require higher pressures. Typical applications are larger sizes of CATV and copper clad steel wire.

The largest machine in the range - the main application being the sheathing of very large power cables.
